Despite modern technological advancements in metallurgy and material science, corrosion remains the single biggest cause of equipment failure, and to the detriment, costs the industry trillions of pounds globally each year.
The cost of corrosion testing is marginal in comparison to the adverse financial impact that a process change might have on the materials of construction, which is why it is so important to undertake such testing with a trusted provider, reducing costs in the long term and prolonging the lifespan of assets. We can help with testing for material selection, service environments and efficiency improvements.
Axiom’s impressive corrosion testing facility is class-leading. We offer a range of corrosion testing techniques from standard pot boil testing through to cyclic potentiodynamic polarization measurements. Such measurements are often used for testing and can determine if an alloy might be susceptible to stress corrosion cracking or pitting in the exposed environment.
In our facilities, we also possess three solid Hastelloy autoclaves, with our one litre autoclaves having the ability to withstand temperatures as high as 300°C.
Notably, we have a vast library of invaluable corrosion data – that has been collected over several decades by a team of experts – which can be consulted when clients are faced with difficult choices over material selection.
With a combination of knowledge, technical know-how and state of the art hardware, Axiom is a global leader in testing services and assessment.
We offer the following standard testing services:
